So it should come as no surprise that as the former contestant of Dancing with the Stars, graces the cover of this month’s Shape magazine in her size-2 bikini-clad body, gossip websites and celebrity blogs are on fire with just how amazing this pint-sized young starlet looks.
At 5′ 3″, Kelly once topped the scales at 160 pounds. Today, 50 pounds lighter, she has a svelte figure that has inspired scores of other petite (and not-so petite) women to clamor to discover her diet secrets.
Her weight loss journey began in 2009 as a dancer on Dancing with the Stars, where she lost 20 pounds from the constant activity of rehearsal. Once the show ended, she gained the weight back, but after accompanying her mom Sharon on long hikes outside, the weight once again started to come off. From there, she stepped it up and cleaned up her diet to speed up her results.
In order to maintain her enviable body, Kelly follows a low-carb and sugar-free diet plan that includes 90-minute workouts that alternate between Pilates and running on a treadmill. Her other tips include setting small goals, rather than overhauling her entire lifestyle all at once. She also advises putting on some lip gloss before working out. A self-professed workout-despiser, Kelly admits to doing what she needs to do to get into the gym – often that involves putting on a cute workout outfit and swiping on some lip gloss.
“I never thought in a million years I’d be that healthy girl who wakes up every morning to exercise,” Kelly says. “I’m rocking a bikini!”
