In many of my readings, people just say coconut oil is detrimental because it&#039;s, &quot;SATURATED FAT THIS AND SATURATED FAT THAT!&quot; What they almost always forget to say or simply don&#039;t know is that coconut oil is chiefly medium chain fatty acids (MCFA), which are SO SO SO different from long chain fatty acids (LCFA) commonly found in almost all other dietary oils and fats.

MCFAs behave very differently from LCFAs because, as you said, MCFAs are not stored as fat and are easily converted into energy. MCFA-rich coconut oil go straight to your liver to help power metabolism. MCFA-rich coconut oil is PRO-Energy, NOT PRO-Fat.
