What is it?

Alphamine is a weight loss drink that’s used to provide a thermogenic and fat burning effect.  It’s intended to provide energy specifically for people who work out.

There are 7 different flavors offered that include raspberry lemonade, appletini, cotton candy, fruit punch, ice tea,  pina colada, and sunrise. The benefit of this is to provide a measured dosage to fit people’s needs.  It’s advised to take it for 8 weeks, and then take a 4 week break before continuing another cycle. This is due to the stimulant which needs to be carefully dosed. Featured within this review are customer opinions, the quality of ingredients, how well this works for weight loss, and other important details about Alphamine. Alphamine Ingredients and Side Effects
L-Leucine L-Carnitine L-Tartrate Choline Bitartrate L-Theanine
Ferula Asafoetida Extract (95% Refulic Acid) Caffeine Anhydrous Citric Acid Natural and Artificial Flavors Silicon Dioxide
Sucralose Acesulfame Potassium FD&C Yellow #5 FD&C Blue #1

L-Carnitine: Amino acid used to help improve heart, brain, and muscle function. It also creates energy, and it’s made naturally by the body.

Though this ingredient is used for fat burning, Examine.com adds:

“Supplementation of L-carnitine does not burn fat unless the individual is deficient in L-carnitine”

They also include:

“studies on ALCAR in isolation do not show very good results”

In supplement form it may also promote side effects that include:

  • Diarrhea, vomiting, and nausea.
  • Upset stomach, heartburn, and fishy odors and smells.
  • Seizure.

L-Tartrate: A modified version of the amino acid L-Carnitine.  Possible side effects may include:

  • Abdominal cramps and pain, nausea, and diarrhea.
  • Vomiting, rash, and body odor.
  • Increased appetite.

Choline Bitartrate: A kind of B vitamin which is found in many foods. It’s used to help support the nervous system. It’s not necessary in people who don’t have a nutritional deficiency. Web MD ads:

“Taking high doses of choline by mouth is POSSIBLY UNSAFE”

It can potentially cause side effects that include:

  • Stomach pain, nausea, and sweating.
  • Fishy odor, diarrhea, and vomiting.
  • Increased risk for colon cancer.

A comprehensive list of the top 10 ranked diet pills is made available via the link here.

L-Theanine: Amino acid which is commonly found in green tea. It’s used to help stimulate nerve impulses, and also to calm the body. Caution needs to be exercised as Web MD adds:

“It is not known if use for longer periods of time is safe”

No information is available to determine the possible side effects.

Ferula Asafoetida Extract (95% Refulic Acid): Dried latex taken from an herb. It’s used to help improve brain health and to help provide aphrodisiac effects.  It can lead to side effects that include:

  • Blood disorders, convulsions, and gas.
  • Diarrhea, headaches, and swelling of the lips.
  • Burping and other side effects.

Caffeine Anhydrous: Dehydrated caffeine which is used to help stimulate the central nervous system. It increases energy, metabolism, and mental focus.

A total of 125 mg are offered per scoop, and since 3 scoops are suggested, a daily serving is 375 mg. The common standard limit for caffeine before serious side effects may be experienced in most is 400 mg.

Though caffeine is used for weight loss, there’s an issue with tolerance. Examine.com confirms this by saying:

“Havbitual caffeine use leads to tolerance, which dulls several of caffeine’s effects”

It may also promote side effects that includr:

  • Insomnia, restlessness, and nausea.
  • Vomiting, agitation, and tremors.
  • Muscle spams, jitters, and seizure.
  • Rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, and pain in the chest.
  • Headaches, migraines, and ringing in the ears.

In certain people even small amouts can lead to unwanted symptoms. Caffeine also is the reason why Alphamine needs to be cycled.

Sucralose: This calorie free sweetener is around 1,000 times sweeter than standard sucrose. It’s found in brands like Splenda.  A study in the Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health showed serious side effects:

“reduction in beneficial fecal microflora, increased fecal pH, enhanced expression levels of P-gp”

The reduced microflora can potentially lead to issues such as immune system damage, which can promote serious illness and disease in the future.

It also showed an increase in P-gp, a cell membrane which helps get rid of potentially toxic ingredients in the body. This means that the body treats sucralose as a potential contaminant.

Acesulfame Potassium: Artificial sweetener which is around 200 times much sweeter than regular sugar.

Studies on this ingredient have shown it to be potentially harmful. One study by PLOS One showed that it:

“could affect cognitive functions, potentially via altering neuro-metabolic functions”

It also affected:

“fasting insulin and leptin levels”

It reduced the satiety hormone leptin and had an effect on blood sugar.

FD&C Yellow #5: Artificial food coloring used to help produce a yellow color. It has been banned in Norway, Austria, and other European countered due to side effects.

Possible side effects from this include hyperactivity and allergic reactions. In some it can cause hives, difficulty breathing, and itchy rashes.

FD&C Blue #1: Man made dye that is often found in processed foods. It is not well absorbed by the body, and around 95% of it will show up in one’s stool.

The FDA also issued a warning on this ingredient:

“Toxicity, including death, has been reported only in associated with FD&C Blue No.1”

 Alphamine Quality Of Ingredients

AlphamineThe ingredients such as amino acids can easily be replaced by whole foods. There’s also addirtives such as caffeine which can also be found in foods, though it’s not a long term solution for weiht loss. It may promote side effects, and it’s advised to cycle this supplement because of it.

There’s also no need for many of these ingredients such as artificial food colorings. These additives have no weight loss benefit. The top 10 list available here has the highest rated diet pills.

The Price and Quality of Alphamine

Sales are offered directly from the official website, an 84 serving container sells for $42.95. This lasts for a total of 28 days at the maximum advised 3 scoops a day. It breaks down to a daily cost of $1.53.

This is a high price for what’s a blend of several artificial ingredients, and a potentially damaging stimulant. There’s no weight loss benefit to many of these ingredients, and they’re added only to give the produce a unique look and different taste.  It’s because of these reasons that it’s a poor option for weight loss. One Response to Alphamine Review

Lynell T. says:

Thanks for the review!

I dislike Diets in, this company diet is shabby! Arnoldo had a horrible response to this poor product with upset digestive system and had an issue with a shipment. Father recommended me do not try the Diets in.
