ProstaRelief Review (UPDATED 2017): Don't Buy Before You Read This!
ProstaRelief is a daily nutritional supplement that is designed to help men prevent or overcome prostate and urinary issues like benign prostate hyperplasia (BHP) and chronic prostatitis (CP). Problems that ProstaRelief may be able to help their users overcome include bladder overactivity, pain, burning, or difficulty urinating, and instances of urine getting trapped in the urethra.
Its advertising also claims that ProstaRelief has applications for helping men generate healthy prostate cells and tissue, which may also reduce the chances that its users develop prostate cancer later in life. They also claim that it has benefits for improving sex drive and sexual performance, potentially due to improved urinary function.
The prostate health supplement that was ranked number one in our experts top ten list is called Prostatrinex. The reason that it was rated so highly was due in part to their extensive and powerful ingredients blend and in part to the overwhelmingly positive feedback that we have seen from their current users. Click here to read more information about the different types of benefits that Prostatrinex can have for its users.
How Does ProstaRelief Work?
ProstaRelief’s ingredients blend seems like it can provide some mild benefits for prostate health, including a minimal amount of size control, however it seems like the majority of its focus is on improving urinary function in an attempt to help men overcome the symptoms of conditions like BHP and CP.
As men age, the prostate tends to continue to grow and it can get to a point where it begins to disrupt urinary function. The prostate is located right at the point where the bladder connects to the urethra, and if it gets to large it can obstruct the tube that men use to expel urine, making it painful and difficult to urinate normally.
Ingredients like stinging nettle root extract, uva ursi, cranberry extract, and beta-sitosterol are all thought to be able to improve male urinary performance in multiple ways, and may be able to help men overcome some of the issues that are created by prostrate swelling, inflammation, and irritation. This may include strengthening the urinary stream, reducing pain in the pelvic floor and lower abdominal regions, and helping men to completely void their bladders each time they use the restroom.
Completely emptying the bladder means that men don’t have to use the bathroom as frequently, including fewer instances of getting up in the middle of the night to urinate. This also means that they do not have to pull over while driving, stop activities, or excuse themselves from conversations as frequently.
ProstaRelief does not provide as many ingredients that can actually impact the size of the prostate as the top brands of prostate health supplements tend to use. They do have unspecified doses of saw palmetto, pygeum, pumpkin seed extract, and lycopene in their blend, but our panel has concerns about if they are using large enough quantities of these additives for them to be successful.
ProstaRelief also has a particularly weak selection core health nutrients, which severely reduces its potential effectiveness, especially as a long-term prostate health product. It does have doses of zinc, selenium, and copper, however it uses doses that are far below the amounts that our team of health and wellness experts would recommend for a product in this category.
They also do not include any basic vitamins in their blend, most notably B6 and E, which the prostate uses for daily functionality and long term health. Most troubling, they totally neglect any form of amino acid support, which tends to be seen as a critical aspect of any effective prostate health supplement.
The two most vital aminos for basic prostate health and functionality are L-Alanine and L-Glutamic acid, both of which are found in high concentrations in prostate serum, seminal fluid, and in the prostate gland itself. Alanine and glutamic acid are linked to improvements in urinary function, cellular health, and may even potentially help to shrink swollen and inflamed prostate glands. It would be very difficult for our team to recommend a prostate health supplement that did not include any form of amino support.

Potential Benefits of ProstaRelief
The most common benefits that users of ProstaRelief will tend to see are urological in nature, including stronger, higher velocity urine streams and a general reduction in pain during the urinary process. It may help men to expel more urine each time they go to the bathroom, which can reduce the total quantity of times that men have to go overall.
One of the benefits of this is that it can help men get up fewer times to use the bathroom in the middle of the night, which can help them to get better, more restful sleep. This means that users may have more energy, improved mood and subjective outlook, as well as improved mental performance throughout the day.
It is also possible that ProstaRelief can help the prostate to generate new, healthy cells and tissue. This can keep its growth rate in check while also potentially reducing the chances that men will develop cancer of the prostate later in life.
Are There Side Effects of ProstaRelief?
Most of the ingredients that are used in ProstaRelief are well tolerated by a majority of people. There are however, some minor allergy concerns related to some of their ingredients, as well as several other additives that they did have some worries regarding.
The ingredient in ProstaRelief that most concerns our review team is vanadium, a mineral that has been linked to several potential side effects, some of them serious. In the short-term, vanadium can potentially cause issues such as:
- Abdominal discomfort
- Loss of energy
- Discoloration of the mouth and tongue
More concerning, however, is the fact that vanadium is thought to possibly have a cumulative effect if taken on a daily basis, which may lead to more serious long term health consequences. Daily vanadium consumption can possibly lead to damage to the kidneys and the nervous system.
It is also possible that vanadium can have negative effects on the blood sugar, causing it to drop abruptly. This can be especially dangerous for people with naturally low glucose levels or that are taking medications that affect the heart, blood pressure, or blood sugar levels.
ProstaRelief also uses an unspecified amount of dandelion root extract, which is safe for most people but is a potent allergen to any individuals that have ragweed allergies. This is one of the most common forms of allergies worldwide and can include anyone that is sensitive to daises, chrysanthemums, marigolds, and other flowers. Individuals with ragweed sensitivities should not consume ProstaRelief.

How to Buy ProstaRelief
ProstaRelief is sold through several independent retailers, as well as through their own home page. The pricing structure that they were promoting at the time of this article’s publication is as follows:
- 1, 60-count bottle (30-day supply) of ProstaRelief capsules: $39.95
- 2, 60-count bottles (60-day supply) of ProstaRelief capsules: $79.95
- 3, 60-count bottles (90-day supply) of ProstaRelief capsules: $119.95
These prices are fairly average for an over the counter prostate health supplement of this nature. Users should also note that their ratings with third party distributors and reviewers tend to be fairly bad, including a “D” rating from Prostate Report and 3.5/5 stars from both Amazon and Trustwerty.
While ProstaRelief has a number of very positive aspects to their ingredients blend, they also have several major weaknesses as well. They use many highly-regarded additives, such as saw palmetto, pygeum, and zinc, however they also do not always use appropriate dosage sizes. Furthermore, they ignore some of the other top additives that our experts believe should be in any effective over the counter prostate health supplement.
Another issue that our team had was ProstaRelief’s use of vanadium. In general, our team does not recommend any supplement that uses the mineral in its proprietary mixture, especially if the supplement is supposed to be taken on a daily basis. This puts users in too much risk of negative long term effects for our team to be comfortable recommending it to our readers.
Overall, ProstaRelief is not effective enough to overcome its many weaknesses. It may be able to provide some minimal levels of symptom relief for men, particularly in terms of urinary performance, however in general users should not have a hard time finding a more effective product.
The brand that they recommend most frequently to our readers is Prostatrinex. It has the most diverse and effective proprietary blend of any prostate health product that our team has analyzed, including an excellent base of core level nutrients.
Prostatrinex has an excellent reputation within the health and wellness industry, as does its manufacturer, 18nutrition. Click here to get more information about the different ways that Prostatrinex is able to help improve the health and wellbeing of its users.
