Gluten Free Lunch Box Snacks Kids Will Love

In some ways it feels like summer has just begun. However, a walk through a supermarket will tell us that back-to-school season is just around the corner. The aisles are full of school supplies, backpacks, and new lunch boxes.

It’s just a few weeks before our kids will need their nutritious lunches packed every morning. This can be a real challenge as a parent. The challenge is much greater for those who have children with food allergies. Thankfully, many new products are available to make lunchtime easier for these children. For kids with gluten allergies or Celiac disease, their choices for fun lunchtime snacks were typically very limited. Today, there are several great products available. Not only are they gluten free and nutritious, but they are fun. No longer do our little ones with allergies have to be left out, eating their plain snacks.

These are just a few of the great tasting, gluten free, lunch box snacks to put on your school supply list.

1. Annie’s Organic Fruit Snacks
Coming in four fun flavors, Annie’s snacks are not only gluten free but they are certified organic, free of artificial coloring, made with real fruit juice, contain 100% of your child’s daily value for vitamin C, are vegan and are gelatin free. There are very few fun fruit snacks on the market who can make these claims.

2. EnviroKidz Organic Crispy Rice Bars
These delicious snack bars come in five different flavors ranging from peanut butter to chocolate. The main ingredient is organic gluten free rice. The ingredients are wholesome, delicious, and each flavor has it’s own animal “mascot.” Healthy food being fun is always a bonus for the parent.

3. Blue Diamond Nut Thins Crackers
With most crackers being wheat based, finding a gluten free brand is tough. Nut Thins are a great answer to that problem. They come in eight different flavors and are completely gluten free, and because of their nut based ingredients, they also provide protein.

4. Larabar
These bars come in a variety of flavors. From cashew cookie to cherry pie, there is no room for bland. Larabars are made of unsweetened fruits, nuts and spices. The bars are made from 100% whole food and each flavor contains no more than nine ingredients.

5. Snikiddy Fries and Puffs
These corn based snacks come in two types. The baked fries come in six different fun flavors, ranging from “Sea Salt” to “Classic Ketchup.”  The Cheese Puffs come in two kid friendly flavors, “Mac & Cheese” and “Grilled Cheese.” These crunchy snacks are made with no preservatives, no corn syrup, they are peanut and nut free, vegan, and, of course, gluten free.
