I lost 60lbs on this plan

Rebecca says:

So I am a huge fan of Biggest Loser but I thought the winner of Season 7 (Helen) did not deserve it. I know she worked hard and did what she had to do, but never once did she mention anything about her daughter, or thank her daughter for the opportunity. Helen is a very selfish woman and it is obvious that Shannon needs the help as well. Ron and Cathy sacrificed themselves to push their children through and Helen was only thinking of herself. She should have went home and let Shannon get the help she needs. I will still watch the show but I will forever disown this past season because of Helen.

BTSouth says:

Rebecca, I am with you about! Helen didn’t really look healthly, it looked as if she needed to eat but Tara and Mike they looked wonderful!!!!!!

Cindy says:

I am also in total agreement with Rebecca and BTSouth. I would be ashamed of myself for not letting my daughter “Go for it”. As a parent you always want to put your childern out there to succeed at something before yourself. I think Helen forgot that she is the Parent and Shannon the child. I would hope that Helen is putting some of the winnings to good use to help her Daugher Shannon get the help she needs to lose the weight. For instance. A great trainer to help help her and the money that she needs to buy the fresh fruit and produce that she needs, because we all know that its not cheap to buy these things.

Danielle says:

OMG!!! I am so so so glad to hear someone voice my exact thoughts about Helen. I can’t stand her for the very same reasons. She should have gone home the 2nd time around and let her daughter stay. I was so upset that she won after throwing her daughter under the bus. She should have but Shannon before herself but she was to selfish…

johndawg says:

I think that Mike’s brother should be in this season and i hope that Ron and Mike are helping him.

Betty Slaughter says:

I think maybe you guys are being to hard on Helen. Although she was not my favorite, I think because she was older she had more health issues than Shannon. She needed to get healthy and in that way she would be an inspiration to Shannon. Hopefully, Shannon will take what Helen brought home and get herself in control and healthy. She deserves it.

lisa says:

I totally agree Mike’s brother should be on the show – his teammate should be the younger orange team guy. I say give him a 2nd chance!

Sandy says:

I think that you are all assuming that Helen didn’t talk or support her daughter. We only see a part of what is filmed I am sure. Of course they are going to make the show more interesting by not showing everything. I am sure that Helen and her daughter had alot of conversation about who would go home. so yeah Helen
It is harder for older people to loose the weight.

Erin says:

Well I got something..for the only one who Helen needs to thank is GOD hes the one who truly gave her the strength to pull this off.. Yes she is SELFISH her daughter shouldve been there, But Obviously GOD idnt want shannon there he choose helen. So O well But hopefully She shares some of that dough.. I know i would
has anyone heard the dates and times for a casting call on season 9 if you have let me know…l
thanks~ Erin

Sandra says:

I so agree with everyone about Helen. I to agree that she was selfish and should have given her daughter the chance. I to agree that it would be cool to have Mike’s brother on the next show.

Patti says:

While Helen was not my favorite ether, I have to disagree with the other posts. One of the things both Bob and Jillian preach is to finally “put yourself first, Stop worrying about others and concentrate on you getting healthy”. Yes, Most parents would push their kid and sacrifice themselves but then either die from the health risks or continue serving the foods that got them there in the first place, not having learned about eating healthy.
Just my opinion.

Erin says:

Im just curious… i really wanted to go out to Detroit to audition on the 27th, but i am not slightly confused. On one site it says it is for couples but feel free to audition alone if you dont have a partner. Here, it says only couples… can someone please clarify this for me so i dont waste my time or theirs?

Brandi says:

Erin-

The information we have provided here regarding casting couples is coming directly from NBC. Per press releases we’ve received and information provided on the casting site at NBC, season 9 is casting for couples/teams of two.

Good luck.

Mary Beth says:

Erin- Season 9 is for ‘couples’ but they encourage those people without couples to attend an open call anyway, because sometimes their requirements change or they throw curveballs (remember Bernie and Brittany)…. so GO FOR IT! I’m going as a single too in KC! Good luck!

Amy says:

Ye Haw! No matter what, in season 7 NO one worked harder or had more integrity than Tara. That woman rocks!! I loved her determination and her attitude. I thought she got thoroughly ROBBED at the finale. Although I am sure it hurt Tara to not have won, it was clear that she was not in it for the money. Think about how many times she turned down money prizes to stay in the game for the sole purpose of reaching her weight loss dreams. AND SHE DID!! You go Tara, you are an inspiration and a hero in my book!!
