What is it?

Perceptiv is a memory enhancement supplement aimed at providing users with better memory recall and an overall improvement in mental clarity.

The makers of this product claim users can experience changes in mood, memory and more within two weeks.

Perceptiv works by providing antioxidants to the brain, and restoring levels of neurotransmitters. Perceptiv also gives users an extra burst of energy, helping achieve peak mental performance.

Perceptiv Ingredients and Side Effects

The Perceptiv website appears to be very transparent, documenting clinical trials and listing the many ways in which this product works to enhance brain function. We did, however, need to search for a product label to get a look at the official formula. Here it is:

N-Acetyl L-Cyesteine Acetyl L-Carnitine Vitamin E
S-Adenosyl Methionine (SAMe) Folic Acid Vitamin B12

N-Acetyl L-Cyesteine: An amino acid often used to counteract poisoning from acetaminophen or carbon monoxide, this ingredient is thought to potentially have an effect on those with Alzheimer’s disease and various conditions affecting the liver, kidneys and pancreas.

  • Side effects may include rash, swelling, low blood pressure, fever, liver problems, swelling in the mouth, tightening of the chest, drowsiness.
  • Additional side effects may include stomach ache, vomiting, diarrhea and constipation.

Acetyl L-Carnitine: An amino acid produced naturally within the body, L-carnitine is essential for maintaining healthy brain function and helps provide the body with energy.

  • Side effects may include stomach ache, vomiting, diarrhea, and restlessness, as well as a fishy odor on the breath, sweat and urine.

S-Adenosyl Methionine (SAMe): A compound found naturally inside the body, SAM-e is often used to manage pain and osteoarthritis symptoms. It is also thought to help treat depression and ADHD, though more research is need on the latter.

  • Side effects may include dizziness, anxiety, diarrhea, constipation, thirst, headache, as well as an allergic reaction.

Vitamin E: A fat-soluble vitamin, vitamin E is used to treat and prevent diseases affecting he heart and blood vessels, as well as keeping the brain and nervous system working properly.

Folic Acid: Used to treat anemia and provide nutrients to the fetus during pregnancy, folic acid may also have a positive effect on those with memory loss due to old age or Alzheimer’s disease.

Perceptiv Quality of Ingredients

Based on our review of the formula used to make Perceptiv, it’s clear that there are some ingredients in here that have a profound effect on the body’s function, including the brain and nervous system, which are critical for maintaining a sharp mind and optimal memory recall.

That being said, half of the ingredients are vitamins, which are of, course full of benefits, but are easy to get from other sources like food or much more cost-effective multivitamins.

L-cyesteine seems to have a lot of good benefits, but most of which have little to do with brain function and memory. According to WebMd, this ingredient’s use as a means to treat of prevent Alzheimer’s disease is unlikely to be effective.

L-carnitine is often used in brain enhancement supplements, and it seems like it may be effective in keeping the mind sharp and improving energy levels.

As far as the full formula goes, this could be a good solution, but there is the chance that some people may require something more potent in order to make this product worth the nearly $80 price tag.

The Price and Quality of Perceptiv

Perceptiv is sold on the official website, or by phone, for $79.95 for a one-month supply, or $159.90 for three bottles or $269.85 for 6.

Perceptiv can be found on the Walgreens website, as well as through another online store, Forrest Pharmaceuticals, for around $52 a bottle. Buying from either of these retailers is likely the best deal, unless you decide to stock up on several months’ worth of product at once.

Additionally, this product is available from a few Amazon sellers, and potential users may be able to find ti there for a greater discount.

In terms of value, $79.95 seems a little steep for a brain supplement, though we like that this company seems to be transparent and has taken the care to ensure this product has been made in an FDA-approved facility and undergone clinical studies.

Business of Perceptiv

Perceptiv is made by a company known as Sevo Nutraceuticals, and their contact information is listed below:

Phone: 508-829-8046

Email: [email protected]

Address: 800 Main Street
Holden, MA 01520

The product website is quite comprehensive, and features a section detailing how Perceptiv works, as well as the 20+ years of clinical studies conducted on this formulation.

Based on the website alone, it’s clear that Sevo Nutraceuticals is a legitimate company dedicated to making a high quality product. Consumers need not be concerned about any automatic billing traps or poor customer service.

The website is, however, somewhat difficult to use. The home page doesn’t make clear what ingredients are used to deliver the results promised. It’s also potentially hard for consumers to figure out how to purchase this product.

Customer Opinions of Perceptiv

There were not a whole lot of reviews available for Perceptiv, and those that we did find varied quite a bit, with many people claiming this product was not worth the price. Here’s a quick look at some of the reviews:

“The company claimed I’d see results within two weeks. I have yet to see anything and it’s been over three. The price is not consistent with the quality. I’ll finish the bottle, but probably won’t buy again.”

“I stopped using because I was worried about side effects. I was unable to sleep well the entire time I tried this product, and started to have these creepy nightmares. Not a fan.”

“Wasn’t impressed at all. Tried taking this product to improve my memory, and there’s really been no change, aside from some GI distress. I took as directed for the full 30 days, too.”

“It’s pricey to be sure, but my 85-year-old mother has made some noticeable strides with her memory, mood and word recall. Other people have noticed, and it seems to work better than anything from the doctor.”

It’s hard to say whether this is a good product. We do feel the company is trustworthy, but that doesn’t mean this is right for everyone. Many users felt this didn’t work for them, but perhaps that’s because this is geared more toward users that are older, rather than those who want to be more productive. We don’t have demographic information for the reviews, so we can’t be sure.

Conclusion – Does Perceptiv Work?

While looking further into Perceptiv, the website and the formula looked pretty good. There’s no major red flags that come up while looking at Sevo Nutraceuticals, nor any reports of poor marketing or customer services practices.

The formula appears to be safe, and there’s definitely a thorough commitment to consumer safety you don’t always see with many competing products.

Unfortunately, there are very few customer reviews for this product, aside from the testimonials listed on the website. While they can link each ingredient to some evidence that it does provides benefits to the aging brain, we don’t know the amounts of each ingredient in the formula, nor how this product works in real life situations.

Based on this information, it’s difficult to make a clear decision on whether we would recommend this product to those looking to restore their memory or improve cognition. We do feel as though most consumers can safely take this product, it’s just that it’s a little expensive for something that doesn’t provide much in terms of anecdotal evidence that people had used this successfully.

While looking at the ingredients, we found half of the formula is comprised of vitamins and ingredients like SAM-e and L-cyesteine may not be the most effective in treating those with compromised memory or improving the function of the aging brain.
