The 5 Fitness Events You Should Attend this Summer

When you’ve been stuck in the same fitness routine for a while, finding some inspiration can be just the ticket to shake things up. Let’s face it: when we get bored we’re much more likely to quit. Changing things up could make you more likely to stick with exercise, whether it’s trying out a new group exercise class or learning a new sport. Here are five different fitness-focused events happening in the summer of 2014 that will enable you to network with others, make new friends, and discover the latest trends in fitness:

Bootcamp

Blend Retreat

The Details: The Blend Retreat is back for a second year in Park City, Utah (in the gorgeous Canyons Resort) and is sponsored by Silk. It’s a weekend for like-minded individuals from all around the country to come together for three days of fun, great food, fitness and friendship. The Details: Fitbloggin’s mission is to bring together the community of health-conscious bloggers for education, networking and friendship. Attendees are fit-minded individuals from all different backgrounds- from those that are stepping into a gym for the first time to gym rats and triathletes, to those just beginning a weight-loss journey and others that already have lost half their body weight. Red Rocks

Fitness on the Rocks

The Details: Fitness on the Rocks takes place at the world-renowned Red Rocks Amphitheater, located just outside of Denver, Colorado. The event is free and is organized by the city of Denver’s Parks and Recreation department. The goal of the event is to stay ahead of the hottest trends in fitness by providing the latest group fitness classes and workouts. Over 9,000 people attend the event throughout the day and can choose to participate in workouts such as Body Combat, Zumba, Yoga and Total Body Workout- all led by qualified trainers. There’s also an expo for attendees to walk through that features a large number of vendors specializing in fitness and nutrition. IDEA World Fitness Convention
When & Where: August 13-17, Anaheim, CA
Who Attends: 10,000 personal trainers, group fitness instructors, mind body professionals and owners and managers from more than 60 countries

The Details: The IDEA World Fitness Convention is a weekend of networking and education for those in the fitness industry. Fitness celebrities such as Jillian Michaels and Tony Horton and featured in the showcase room and there’s over 360 different educations sessions led by the most successful leaders in the fitness industry. A nutrition expo (with over 300 vendors) is open Thursday-Saturday. Wanderlust

Who Attends: 
Men and women with a passion for yoga

The Details:
 Wanderlust Festivals are described as all-out, ecstatic celebrations.
