4 Worst Coffee Drinks for Your Waistline

I’m a coffee fiend. Luckily, I’m very content with just a little non-fat creamer. But, if you’re the type who needs some sweetness in your morning pick-me-up, you may be nuking your diet efforts. Lattes, cappuccinos, frappuccinos… all of them usually add up to a dietary disaster. Here are some of the worst offenders:

4. Starbucks Venti Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino with whipped cream

The 24-oz. Starbucks Venti Strawberries & Crème Frappuccino with whipped cream contains 580 calories, and 78 grams of sugar. You may as well go out and get a strawberry milkshake, or a big bowl of ice cream.

3. Krispy Kreme Lotta Latte Chiller

Krispy Kreme is best known for their decedent glazed donuts. So, why not completely jump the shark and buy the Lotta Latte Chiller. That way, with the additional 1,050 calories from the 20-ouncer, you can get all of your calories for the day in one fell nutritionally-void swoop. Add 40 grams of fat and 97 grams of sugar, and you will be knocking on diabetes‘ door in no time.

2. Smoothie King Mo’cuccino Caramel

While protein powder usually conjures up thoughts of health-conscious gym rats getting their post-workout shake, the Mo’cuccino Caramel from Smoothie King will have you growing your waistline, not the biceps. The large (40 ounces) is 1,140 calories, 24 grams of fat, and 176 grams of sugar. It would take you most of your workout for the week to burn that off.

1. Cosi Double Oh! Arctic Mocha

Cosi, a coffee and sandwich bar, offers the appropriately named Double Oh! Arctic Mocha. It is blended with a giant Oreo cookie, topped with whipped cream, and garnished with yet another giant Oreo. The gigante size (23 ounces) is a whopping 1,210 calories and 240 grams of sugar. That’s about five times the sugar content of most soda, and more than half of a man’s daily calorie recommendation.

This may not be the absolutely definitive verdict on the worst offenders. If you know of any coffee drinks that should have been included, feel free to tack on your vote in the comment section.
