At the live casting calls, you’ll meet one-on-one with casting agents, interviews that could land you one of a few coveted spots on the show’s fourth season. Unlike other reality weight loss shows, Extreme Makeover is not competition based and follows an individual’s journey from start to finish for 365 days under the direction of trainer Chris Powell.
To be eligible for the show:
- Must be 18 years old
- A legal resident of the United States
- Have 50% or more of your body weight to lose
- Male or female cast as individuals
Each casting experience is different, but Jacqui McCoy, who lost 207 pounds during season two, shared that it was quite positive for her.
“The people I met [in line] were awesome,” she told us. “We shared our struggles, there was no judgment. It was amazing to talk openly and honestly about how we got so overweight and what we wanted to do with our lives.”
During a casting call, Jacqui warns that you’ll have about two minutes to dazzle the casting agents, who are friendly and easy to talk to. “You get a small, two-minute window to discuss things that are important to you and show who you are.” In those two minutes, she says there is no time to be shy, but instead, “be bold.”
