Octavia Spencer has been very open about getting a “boob lift” as her first splurge after winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in The Help. “I figured going into my forties I want my boobs where they were when I was 17,” she says. The actress is planning on having the surgery done in November, after she returns from shooting a film out of the country with Diablo Cody.
In an interview with Al Roker on the Today show, Spencer discussed the surgery in good humor. Watch the interview below.
The Oscar winning actress has been vocal about the fact that she has no intention of trying to conform any conventional standards of beauty. “I love my body,” she says, showing off her curves in a form-fitting dress, although she did confess to also slipping on a pair of Spanx. She is working to get to a healthier weight and adds that she has no desire to be super thin.
Breast lift surgery is can also be done as part of a breast reduction, which can have a number of health benefits for bustier women. Women who elect to have breast reduction surgery often report feeling less back pain and being more comfortable while exercising.
