Jessica Cassity has a green thumb. So two years ago, after more than a decade in New York City, she left in search of a home where she could plant a garden and grow much of her own food. She landed in Portland, OR and found herself in possession of a 100-square-foot plot that produces hundreds of pounds of produce each season. (If you need any summer squash, just ask!)
When she's not in her garden, Jessica might be in at the gym where she teaches a barre class and takes indoor cycling. Or she might be pedaling around town on one of her bicycles, visiting farmers markets, breweries, coffee shops, and the garden supply store.
Before joining DietsInReview.com Jessica was a staff editor for Prevention magazine and a contributing editor for Health magazine. Her articles have appeared in magazines including Self, Shape, Fitness, Women's Health, Family Circle, Ladies Home Journal, and Details as well as in the New York Times. She has written one book, "Better Each Day" (Chronicle, 2011), and is the co-author of another, "Love Your Lower Body" (Rodale, 2014). Jessica is a graduate of University of Illinois at Chicago and holds multiple fitness certifications for Pilates, yoga, and barre3.
